David Lavine is of counsel to Buty & Curliano, specializing in complex litigation spanning the realms of business disputes, employment and severance matters, and individual breach of contract and tort actions. David started his career at the United States Department of Justice, prosecuting federal crimes in Washington DC, Northern Virginia, and Southern California. Over 30 years of practice, he has tried many criminal and civil cases, in federal and state courts, and has settled many more cases prior to or during trial, leveraging his formidable trial skills and tenacious approach to litigation to yield superior results for clients. He offers clients start-to-finish service, including pre-litigation negotiation, court pleading, written discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediation, trial or arbitration, and appeal as needed. Most important, he listens to clients, approaches each case strategically, and never forgets that litigation is not an end in itself, but instead is a means to support and protect key business assets and interests, and to advance and reach individual goals.
