John Krave

John joined Buty & Curliano in October 2022. From 2008 to July 2022, he was Senior Counsel for Kaiser Foundation Hospitals/Kaiser Foundation Health Plans, Inc. His practice focused on a wide array of healthcare operational issues, most notably compliance with state and federal privacy laws, including HIPAA, the California Confidentiality of Medical Information Act, data breach notification, and confidentiality of substance abuse and mental health treatment. Other areas included legal issues in connection with patient consent issues, patient behavioral issues, and media statements. From 1982 until 2008, John was a partner at several prominent firms with practices specializing in the healthcare industry, where his practice specialties included mergers and acquisitions, provider contracting, fraud and abuse and other regulatory counseling. John continues to provide his knowledge and experience to clients of Buty & Curliano LLP.
