Jason J. Curliano
Jason J. Curliano is a founding partner of Buty & Curliano. For over 20 years, his practice has focused on litigation and trial work throughout the State of California, including the representation of Fortune 500 companies and small businesses in the areas of employment, product liability, medical malpractice, business/commercial disputes, toxic torts, trade secrets, and construction defect. Mr. Curliano has obtained numerous defense verdicts in personal injury, toxic and employment cases in Alameda and San Francisco Counties. He has practice and trial experience in both state and federal courts. Mr. Curliano also advises clients on a wide range of employment and CalOSHA matters. He co-chaired the Employment Law Committee for the Association of Defense Counsel of Northern California.
Mr. Curliano and his practice group have developed a comprehensive strategy for employers relating to workplace violence education and the use of various California statutes to obtain injunctive relief. Mr. Curliano has worked on various appellate matters, including coordinating, briefing and arguing writs and appeals.
Prior to co-founding Buty & Curliano, Mr. Curliano worked for Hardin, Cook, Loper, Engel & Bergez where he acquired significant litigation experience, including trial experience in employment and business cases in both state and federal courts. He also handled several post-verdict appeals in both the First District Court of Appeal and the United States Northern District. Mr. Curliano headed up the firm’s Lawyers in the Library program in Alameda County, was Co-Chair of the Alameda County Young Lawyers Committee, and served as an Alameda County Small Claims Court Judge Pro Tem.
Mr. Curliano is a member of The Association of Defense Counsel of Northern California and Nevada and The Defense Research Institute. He is also a fellow in the Litigation Counsel of America and recognized as a Super Lawyer in Northern California by Super Lawyers Magazine. Mr. Curliano is a Board Member of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Oakland and while in college he was a member of the United States Luge Team.
